For the Duolingo Design Dept, 2023 was a year of growth and calibration—we had line-of-sight to the high bar that Eng and Product held, but there was a gap to cover. In 2024, we ~closed that gap and raised the bar. Goalposts were moved for many disciplines, roles, and levels. Lots of people grew, new leaders were minted, glass balls were dropped, rubber balls were discovered, and everyone felt the crunch and saw the bar being raised.
