Born and raised in the Midwest, I developed a fascination for design when I got my first computer and a copy of Photoshop as a high school graduation gift. For nearly two decades my appreciation for gradients and whitespace, layout and type has yielded products that are elegant yet approachable. After years of design leadership at Rdio, Adobe, and Stripe, I am now the VP of Design at Duolingo.

Rdio was a streaming music service—one of the first of its kind, launching in the US and Canada before Spotify and Soundcloud. I designed the first version of the product and later became the Head of Design, growing and leading a small but mighty team of talented designers and writers.
